FAQS
Brand, Trust & Company
Who is Evolution Auto Retroworks?
We are a parts retailer and fabrication shop based in Hastings, Minnesota, built around a single focus: 1967 to 1972 Chevrolet and GMC C/K trucks, along with 1969 to 1972 K5 Blazers and GMC Jimmys. We founded Evolution Auto Retroworks after nearly twenty years of friendship built in the garage, and together we bring more than fifty years of experience building and restoring these trucks.
Are you affiliated with Chevrolet or General Motors?
No, we operate independently. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by General Motors, and Chevrolet along with the Chevrolet logo remain trademarks of GM. What we offer are OEM-style and performance replacement parts built to work on these trucks.
Where are you located?
You can find us at 2550 Millard Ave, Hastings, MN 55033.
How much parts inventory do you carry?
We stock more than 3,800 parts from over 40 trusted vendor brands, so you can source what you need for your build without ordering from several different retailers.
Who's behind Evolution Auto Retroworks?
Ian Martin and Matt Goebel launched Evolution Auto Retroworks in 2025, though our friendship goes back nearly twenty years, built around trucks, tools, and time spent in the garage. Matt has owned and operated a collision and body shop since 2017, and Ian co-hosts a podcast called The Luxury Hillbilly Hideaway.
What makes you different from other classic truck parts retailers?
We take a curated approach rather than acting as a marketplace. Every part we carry is selected for fit, function, and how well it holds up in real-world use, and we note materials, compatibility caveats, and install tips directly on the product page so you know what to expect before you buy.
Fitment & Model Compatibility
What truck years and models do you support?
We focus specifically on 1967 to 1972 Chevrolet and GMC C/K trucks, including the C10, C20, K10, and K20, along with 1969 to 1972 K5 Blazers and GMC Jimmys. This focus is intentional. If we don’t have a part, you don’t need it.
Do you carry parts for GMC trucks, or just Chevy?
Both. Chevrolet and GMC C/K trucks from this era shared the same platform with different badges and trim, so our catalog covers both makes, including the GMC Jimmy alongside the Chevy K5 Blazer.
How do I know if a part will fit my truck's exact configuration?
Start with the compatibility notes on the product page, where we call out cab style, drivetrain, and trim differences. If you are still unsure, call us at 651-551-4001 or email ian@evolutionautoretroworks.com, and we will confirm fit before you place your order.
What's the difference between your OEM and performance parts?
OEM-style parts are built to restore your truck to factory-correct condition. Performance parts, from brands such as Wilwood, Ridetech, and Chevrolet Performance, go beyond factory specifications for builders looking to upgrade braking, suspension, or drivetrain capability.
How do you reduce the chances I order something that doesn't fit?
We pair structured fitment data with real-world testing on actual trucks before a part is ever listed, which helps cut down on any surprises that can slow down a build.
Parts Categories, Brands & Sourcing
What categories of parts do you carry?
Our catalog includes AC and Heater, Body and Exterior, Brakes, Cooling System, Drivetrain, Electrical and Lighting, Engines and Components, Exhaust, Fuel System, Gauges and Accessories, Hardware, Interior, Steering and Components, Suspension, and Wheels, covering nearly everything needed for a ground-up build.
How do you decide which vendors to carry?
We evaluate vendors based on manufacturing tolerances, finish quality, and their ability to keep parts in stock and stand behind them. We started with twenty to thirty vetted vendors and continue to grow that list carefully, with input from the people who actually build these trucks.
Do you sell merchandise?
We do. Our lineup includes hats, a men's work shirt, and men's and women's Nike polos, all under the Evolution Auto Retroworks name.
Truck Bodies, Cabs & K5 Tubs
Do you sell complete truck bodies, not just parts?
Yes. In addition to individual parts, we build and sell brand-new 1967 to 1972 C/K truck bodies, which gives you a solid option if your original body is too far deteriorated to restore.
What is a K5 tub, and do you sell them new?
The tub refers to the main body structure of a 1969 to 1972 K5 Blazer or GMC Jimmy, essentially the full passenger compartment shell. We manufacture and sell brand-new K5 and Jimmy tubs, giving you a rust-free foundation to build on rather than working around the wear of a fifty-year-old original.
Do you build custom cab configurations, such as crew cab or extended cab?
Yes. We build cabs, bodies, and custom configurations for 1967 to 1972 Chevrolet and GMC trucks, and crew and extended cab options are currently in development.
Who typically needs a brand-new body or tub instead of restoring the original?
If your cab or tub has significant rust, collision damage, or missing structural sections, starting with a brand-new body or tub from us gives your build a straight, reliable foundation from day one.
Will you do a factory-correct restoration, or only custom and modernized builds?
Either. Whether your goal is a factory-correct restoration or a fully modernized build with upgraded drivetrain and suspension, we build the project around your vision from the start.
Ordering, Shipping & Delivery
What does shipping cost?
Shipping is flat rate and based on your order total: $15.99 for orders under $25, $12.99 for orders between $25 and $59.99, $11.49 for orders between $60 and $159.99, and $9.99 for orders of $160 or more. This applies to standard ground shipping within the contiguous United States.
Do you ship to Alaska or Hawaii?
Not at this time.
Does flat-rate shipping apply to everything?
Not quite. Flat-rate shipping does not apply to air or freight shipments, or to items that ship directly from the manufacturer. Those are priced separately based on size and carrier.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and Amazon Pay.
Returns, Warranty & Support
What is your return policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to start a return, and you will need an RGA number from us first. Items must be returned unused, unaltered, and in their original packaging. If you are slightly outside the 30-day window, please reach out anyway. We are glad to work with you when we can.
How do I start a return?
Email ian@evolutionautoretroworks.com or call 651-551-4001 with your part number, quantity, order number, and reason for the return. We will issue an RGA number, which should be marked clearly on the package when you send it back.
What items are not eligible for return?
Special order or non-stock items, electrical components once installed, and any item that has been modified or used are not eligible for return.
Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee alongside our standard return process for eligible items.
What kind of support can I expect if I call or email?
You will be speaking with someone who actually builds these trucks, not a general call center. We are glad to help by phone or email.
